VISIBLE IMPACT

LEAVE A LASTING IMPACT on each one of our seventy students as they learn what it takes to work together on a fast-paced engineering endeavor.

EMPOWER US with the skills and confidence to one day enter industry and make a difference.

OUR 2023-2024 GOALS

WHERE IT ALL BEGINS...

Being an award-winning team is all about setting ambitious standards. And then exceeding them.

We work around the clock to turn these lofty dreams into realities. But without the generosity and interest of sponsors, none of this is possible.

Here's where we see ourselves in the next year while building REV9:

QUANTITATIVE: Less than 200 kg of Weight & Over 100 Miles of Testing

By reducing our weight to under 200kg, we have a very clear performance oriented goal that each subsystem needs to problem solve creatively to hit. Sufficient testing allows the team to verify our design choices and tune the car's  advanced control systems based on drivers’ feedback and logged data.

QUALITATIVE: Design for Adjustability, Serviceability, and Manufacturability

PER aims to design an easily adjustable REV9 to achieve optimal performance in the different dynamic events. It is also crucial for commonly serviced parts such as our accumulator to be easily accessible to save valuable time. Additionally, many mechanical designs are driven by our goal of manufacturability, such as the airfoils for the aerodynamics package.

WE STRIVE FOR TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE

Mechanical:

For REV9, we aim to produce our lightest, most efficient car yet. Our innovations include a custom planetary gearbox, compact transmission system, and redesigned battery pack to reduce weight and thermal losses. We are also optimizing for competition performance with an aero package developed using multi-element airfoil and CFD optimization, a suspension setup that can be tuned for any condition, and an all new regenerative braking scheme. We are so excited to work through these challenges, and we cannot wait to showcase our achievements at competition!

Electrical:

For REV9, we aim to push our limits in design and innovation. PER has been one of the only FSAE teams in the US to design all our hardware circuitry, and we’re proud to continue this legacy with our custom new motor controller. Furthermore, in addition to our self-developed embedded codebase and vehicle dynamics simulations, we also optimizing our data collection system with wireless real-time data visualization, to ensure we get the most out of testing. These design challenges will not only build our skills as engineers, but also make REV9 the most competitive car to date.

LET'S HELP EACH OTHER

Our relationships with our sponsors go a long way. We seek to build meaningful, mutually beneficial partnerships that go far beyond financial support.

SUPPORT US IN ONE OF FIVE WAYS:

I. NUTS AND BOLTS

Your donated or discounted top end parts and raw materials make up a world-class racecar.

II. WISDOM

Your expertise allows our team to develop valuable insights to help us build a racecar and prepares our team members as they enter industry.

III. SKILLS

We can’t do everything in house. Luckily your facilities and services allow us to be at the cutting edge of technology.

IV. MONEY

Your donations allows the team to cover our remaining expenses and sustain our growth.

V. OTHER
